This class was developed with the primary audience being officers. While many officers encounter blocks of instruction in their formal PME or in informal classes on leadership failures that led to the commission of war crimes, few have that reinforced or are given the opportunity in their informal professional development to look at the primary source documents. This OPD goes beyond just scenario-based discussion to encourage participants to dig into the DOD Law of War Manual, Nuremberg Trial documents, and Peers Inquiry documents to gain a better understanding of the responsibilities they carry as leaders in the United States Army.
